ArtUnblock is and will remain a curated directory of art reference sites. It has no accounts, no sign-ups and no uploads, so there is very little to say here.
But for transparency's sake I'd like to cover it all anyway. Think of this Privacy Policy as nothing more than an informal formality.
I do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal detail, because there is nothing on this site to sign up for. I do not sell data, I do not run advertising, and I do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
In the first place this is meant to be a static site meant for quick lookups, however I have future plans that might involve user specific interaction which is why I'm getting ahead of things for the following:
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to see which pages get visited and whether the site is fast enough. Both are cookieless and do not follow you across other websites.
Between them they record: the page(s) you visited, the site that referred you, your approximate country, browser and device statistics, and performance timings such as how long the page took to become usable.
To be clear about what this means on my end: I never see any of it individually. What reaches me is a dashboard of totals; how many people opened a given page, which sites they came from, roughly which countries, which browsers, etc.
I have no access to any personal data, which would be odd for a static website anyway.
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, their servers process requests in order to deliver pages to you and keep the service secure, which involves handling your IP address briefly. See the Vercel privacy policy for how they handle that.
This site sets no cookies. Preferences for light and dark mode are merely stored in your browser's local storage.
The whole point of ArtUnblock is pretty much to send you elsewhere. Those sites are not mine and I do not control any of them. Their content, their privacy practices and their terms are their own. Once you follow a link, that site is in charge, so please be aware of that.
Listing a site is a recommendation of its usefulness as a reference, not a guarantee about how it is run.
However, I will try my utmost to personally review each site's reliablity, security, and usefulness as something to draw art references from.
I am not affiliated with any of the sites listed here. Nobody pays me to be included, nobody has asked to be included, and no link on this site earns me anything. Every entry is here because I found it useful and thought you might too, which is the only criterion I apply.
If that ever changes, whether through a sponsorship, an affiliate link or any other arrangement where I stand to gain something, it will be marked plainly on the entry itself.
Should anything on ArtUnblock ever change that'd affect anything written here, this page gets updated first, with the date above changed to match.
